Volunteer Opportunities
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Certain volunteer positions are eligible for reduced conference rates and there is a limit on number of discounts given. Please inquire for more details and to express area of interest by contacting info@gaiacentre.org
Outline of volunteer positions:
Set-Up/Tear-Down -
1 person needed as the Lead Set-up coordinator to give direction and ensure all necessary tasks are being carried out appropriately. 3 or 4 additional helpers needed to carry out the assigned tasks and act as runners as needed ie, for musician. Included in set-up is ensuring that conference area seating is arranged according to chart of the Wheel of Co-creation (chart will be provided as reference). Decorations and placement of tables, podium, banners, etc. Setting up Gaia Centre information display. May also be asked to assist in ensuring that audio-visual equipment is set up and running smoothly. Set-up volunteers, especially the lead volunteer, will need to have a creative flair for room presentation. Hours of work are 2-3 hours prior to event and 2-3 hours at end of event.
Registration Desk -
A lead volunteer to coordinate and oversee the registration procedures as well as 2 or 3 others to handle the tasks: checking ticket holders against the registration list, handing out name tags and ensuring they are properly matched, accountable for handling of cash for purchase of new registrations or for Gaia Merchandise. Providing information, answering questions, directions, etc. Hours of work are 45 mins before start of conference events each day and up to approximately one hour after event starts to ensure ample opportunity for registrants to be signed in.
Merchandise Table -
Need a bookseller / Merchandiser who is able to take on the responsibility of organizing and making available any Barbara Marx Hubbard materials (books, dvd's etc). Merchandiser solely responsible for handling any purchases/exchanges for this table and be available throughout the event.
Lunch Time Assistants -
2 or 3 people to be available during the lunch service to assist with ensuring the tables are set up properly and lending assistance as required to ensure the meal time runs smoothly. Hours of work would be approximately 1 or 2 hours during lunch on the saturday.

- Graphic Design - posters, flyers, newsletters - occasional or monthly
- Web-maintenance - update our rockin' website - occasional, or monthly
- Board Members - consider becoming a director - 8 meetings/year
- Hosting, Registrations - set up, etc at Conferences and workshops
- Professional Services - Auditor, Writers for press releases, Videographers, Photographers
